Diana Lind is the editor of the Philadelphia-based quarterly magazine, Next American City, and its corresponding Web site, americancity.org. The magazine's mission is to create a geographically and socially diverse forum for discussion about improving American cities. In addition to publishing a magazine, the NAC non-profit organization sponsors events around the country, linking the next generation of urban thinkers and doers.
Prior to joining NAC, Diana was a freelance design writer and editor and her work regularly appeared in Architectural Record, Art + Auction and other magazines. Her most recent book is Brooklyn Modern: Architecture, Interiors & Design (Rizzoli, 2008). Diana has contributed to the New York Times' City Room blog and WHYY's It's Our City blog as an authority on urban issues. She has also taught at Drexel Institute and Columbia University and will be a visiting critic at the University of Pennsylvania's architecture school this fall.
Born and raised in Manhattan, Diana received a B.A. in English from Cornell University and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Columbia University.
