With a wide range of experience in all aspects of regional transformation and economic development, Lou has directed engagements in Aberdeen SD, Asheville, Austin, Charleston WV, Charlotte, Dayton, Durham, Greensboro, Indianapolis, State of Iowa, Kansas City, State of Michigan, Montreal, Oakland CA, Noosa, Australia, Pittsburgh PA, Providence, Shreveport, Syracuse, Tacoma, Tallahassee, Orlando, Wilmington NC and Others.
Lou has some 25 years of broad-based business, government and academic experience. In 1983, he co-founded High Technology Associates along with Don Jones, one of Pittsburgh's leading entrepreneurs. Lou served as CEO of the firm, which specialized in the application of microcomputers and database technology to the marketing function, until selling the business to a leading Pittsburgh advertising agency in 1990. Since then he has been involved in regional economic development and the design of innovative programs to help regions prosper and organizations grow.
Previously, Lou served as manager of technical analysis for NASA's Industrial Applications Center at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to that, he was a vice president at A.C. Nielsen's TecData. He also has worked for Arthur D. Little Inc. and the Gencorp Research Center (formerly the General Tire and Rubber Company).
Lou has a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Clarion University and a Master of Science Degree in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He is follows the activities of the International Economic Development Council, the American Marketing Association, the Pittsburgh Technology Council, Catalyst Connection, and the American Society for Quality. Lou is an accomplished speaker and an ad hoc lecturer on creativity, regional prosperity, brain drain, marketing and database technology at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.
Lou Musante is 59, married with five daughters including twins. He lives in the Allison Park district of Pittsburgh PA where he enjoys working out with his wife, music and the surfing the web. With his multitude of experience in the industry, Mr. Musante is truly a business "infopreneur."
